You've tried all of these
Your phone is full, and every way to get things off it falls short.
The file is two meters away, on the phone next to your computer. Still, every route degrades it, caps it or exposes it.
WhatsApp to yourself
Your 4K clip arrives recompressed and blurry. The PDF arrives fine; the video doesn’t.
A file-transfer website
Family photos, documents, private things, uploaded to a site you don’t even know who runs.
Cloud drive
All the way up to the cloud and back down, at your upload speed — to move a file across your own desk.
“The official way”
Android File Transfer? Google no longer offers it. AirDrop? When the receiving device doesn’t support HEIC or HEVC, it may send a converted copy.
ZiggSend takes the original straight from one device to the other, over your own network, and only delivers it after checking.
Step by step
Tap on the phone.
It lands on the computer.
On the phone, the free app from the App Store or Google Play. On the computer, the Mac or Windows app.
Tap “Connect to a computer”. It shows up under “Devices nearby”: check that the security code matches on both screens and click “Allow”. If it doesn’t show up, use “Scan the QR code”.
Tap “Send photos and videos” or “Send documents, PDFs, ZIPs…”, check what you want and tap “Send”. From the computer to the phone: drag onto the window or use “Send files”.
Everything shows up under “Arrived here”, each file marked “arrived intact”. “Open folder” takes you right to it.

What it’s for
Everyday things between your phone and your computer.
Phone out of storage
Move your camera roll to the computer, then free up space when you’re ready.
ZiggSend only copies: nothing is deleted from your phone. You delete later, if you want.
Video to edit
Edit the file you shot on your computer, not a compressed copy.
4K, HDR and ProRes arrive as they left, verified byte for byte.
A document for work
The PDF, spreadsheet or ZIP goes from your phone to a folder on your computer, no sending it to yourself on WhatsApp or by email.
On the phone: “Send documents, PDFs, ZIPs…”. How to move documents →
From computer to phone
The ticket, the class PDF, the song, or a whole folder: drag it onto the ZiggSend window and it’s on your phone.
On the computer: “Send files”. A folder sends everything inside it, subfolders included, and the files arrive loose, without the subfolders. On iPhone, anything that isn’t a photo or video goes to the Files app.
New phone
Keep everything from the old one on your computer before you hand it over.
Then, with the new one connected, “Send files” on the computer sends it whatever you want.
Three things that never change
Identical. Universal. Private.
Identical
Every file arrives with the same bytes and the same name. If anything changes on the way, it doesn’t go into the folder, and the app tells you.
Universal
Photos, videos, PDFs, spreadsheets, ZIPs: any file, any size. iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows, in any pair, both directions.
- Android MacWi-Fi or cable
- iPhone WindowsWi-Fi
- Android iPhoneWi-Fi
- Mac WindowsWi-Fi
Private
The file goes straight from your phone to your computer, over your own network. No site in the middle, no server keeps anything, and you don’t create an account. Only devices you approved on screen get in.

Questions from people who've been burned before
Is there a file size limit?
None. Log footage, ProRes, RAW, 10-bit HEVC — 4 GB, 40 GB, a whole day of shooting — ZiggSend has no size cap and never compresses. Moving heavy files with zero quality loss is the entire point of this product.
Is it just photos and videos, or any file?
Any file: PDFs, spreadsheets, presentations, ZIPs, audio. On the phone, tap “Send documents, PDFs, ZIPs…”; on the computer, drag onto the window or use “Send files”. From the computer you can even drag a whole folder: everything inside goes, subfolders included, and the files arrive loose, without the subfolders. There’s no size limit, and every file is checked on arrival, just like photos. On iPhone, anything that isn’t a photo or video goes to the Files app.
“I don’t trust my photos to a site I don’t know.” Where do the files go?
Nowhere but your computer. There is no site in the middle: the file goes from the phone to the computer over your home Wi-Fi with its content encrypted, and no file is stored on any server. (From Android to the Mac you can also use a cable, straight down the wire.) The computer app only contacts ZiggSend to check for updates, to register a random install ID when it opens (for your invite code and license count) and, if you go Pro, to activate the license and confirm its status (at most once a day, when there is internet). It never sends your files or their names; the privacy policy lists exactly what goes out and when. Details at ziggsend.com/security.
Does it lose quality, like WhatsApp?
No — that's why this product exists. The file on your computer is identical, byte for byte, to the one on your phone. Anything that arrives different from the original is discarded and flagged. (On the Android cable to the Mac, when the phone cannot compute the fingerprint, on an older Android for example, the check is by exact size.) Compression, never.
Do I need an account or internet?
No account, no sign-up, no cloud. Transfers need no internet: they go over your home network (or, from Android to the Mac, a cable), and your files never leave your devices. Only Pro needs the internet: to activate the license, then at least once every 30 days.
Does any cable work?
Any data cable works, but the one that ships with most phones is USB 2 and caps your speed. On the Mac, the app measures your cable on first run and tells you if a USB 3 cable would make it faster.
Is there a Quick Share for Mac?
No. The official Quick Share desktop app is Windows-only. That's exactly the gap ZiggSend fills: Samsung (or any Android) to Mac over your own Wi-Fi, or by cable with the Mac app's cable mode.
Why use ZiggSend, if LocalSend is free?
LocalSend and PairDrop are good, honest tools and we recommend them for casual sharing — LocalSend also checks every file since version 1.18. ZiggSend is built for the case where being wrong is expensive: it checks the whole file already written to disk against the original, anything that arrives different is discarded and flagged before it reaches your folder, and each file’s fingerprint stays in the history for you to check. It adds a cable path from Android to the Mac, transfers that pick up where they stopped when you send again after the Wi-Fi drops, and someone on the other end when something breaks. And it is free with one phone: Pro is only for several phones, full history, automatic folders or up to 3 computers.
Doesn't AirDrop already do this?
AirDrop is made for Apple devices, and only some recent Android phones (Pixel) reach it — and when the receiving device doesn’t support HEIC or HEVC, it may send a converted copy unless “All Photos Data” is on. ZiggSend works with any Android and never touches the file: what lands on your computer is byte-for-byte the file you shot, verified.
How much does it cost?
Nothing, with one phone: the computer app is free forever with one paired phone. Pro is $39 a year — or $19 once for the first 1,000 founders — and unlocks several phones, full history and automatic folders. Business is $34 per person a year, for teams of 5 or more: see ZiggSend for business.
Does it work with iPhone? And Windows?
Android and iPhone, Mac and Windows, every direction. One license covers up to 3 of your computers, and every new bridge comes at no extra cost.
Do I need to install two apps?
Yes: the app on your computer (Mac or Windows, where the license lives) and the free app on your phone. Your phone finds the computer over your Wi-Fi; for the cable from Android to the Mac, a setup assistant guides you once.
Is it safe to install?
On the Mac, the app is notarized by Apple: macOS only shows its standard confirmation for apps downloaded from the internet, with no unidentified-developer alert. On Windows, the app comes from the Microsoft Store: Microsoft signs it and keeps it updated, with no unknown-publisher warning. Your files never go to a server: see ziggsend.com/privacy.
Does it work without internet? And on hotel or office Wi-Fi?
Yes. It needs no internet, only that both devices are on the same local network; with a cable from Android to the Mac, no network at all. On networks that isolate devices (guest, hotel and office Wi-Fi), use your phone’s hotspot — or, from Android to a Mac, the cable.
My phone is out of space. Can I move everything to the computer and delete?
That is the main use. Send the whole camera roll and wait for the transfer to finish: a file that fails the check is discarded and flagged, so what is in the folder arrived identical. Then delete on the phone. Originals, no size limit, and if the Wi-Fi drops, just send again: it picks up where it stopped. Files arrive together in the folder you chose.
